The Medicine Ward Teaching Service is dedicated to providing high value care for a diverse patient population, while developing our next generation of physicians. 

Our mission is to set the national standard for general internal medicine residency training in inpatient care and generate innovation for acute care education, including a focus on procedural competency and interprofessional practice.

The General Medicine Ward Service is an educational service with the goal of providing clinically excellent and high value patient care to the complex, hospitalized patient, while also providing a robust educational experience for our Internal Medicine Residents, Interns, Medical Students and Advanced Practice Provider Fellows.

Clinically, we care for a diverse patient population from the Denver Metro region, as well as those patients from surrounding regions requiring quaternary specialized medicine. We work closely with our interprofessional and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate specialty services, as well as ancillary services and care management for our patients.

Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇåally, our goal is to support our learners in excelling in the competencies required to care for the hospitalized patient, which includes the delivery of high value and team-based care, development of clinical reasoning expertise and procedural competency,  with a focus on building leadership skills.

Faculty within the Division of Hospital Medicine attend on the service, with a team dedicated to faculty within the Department of Medicine, providing unique exposure to General Internal Medicine and Subspecialty Medicine.
