Academic Resources

 

 

Didactics:

  • CU PM&R didactics are one day per week from 2-5pm.
  • The didactic curriculum for the CU PM&R program is meticulously structured to provide comprehensive training and education for residents.
  • Starting the first week of residency in early July, the curriculum includes many lectures and workshops. Key topics covered include neurorehabilitation, musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders, spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, ultrasound workshops, and electromyography (EMG) training. There is a longitudinal ultrasound curriculum. Additionally, there are specialized sessions on cultural competency, the business of acute rehabilitation, and resident wellness sessions. 
  • Monthly Grand Rounds are also included.

 

Site-Specific Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå:

  • Each main clinical site has their own lecture series which you will be informed about in the beginning of the rotation.

 

Board Preparation: 

  • Annual PM&R Self-Assessment Examination (PM&R SAE) to prepare residents for ABPMR Part I Exam.
  • Annual Mock Oral Boards for all residents to prepare for ABPMR Part II Exam. 
  • Annual Electrodiagnostic Self-Assessment Examination (EDx SAE) through the AANEM.

 

Research: 

  • Graduating residents present their research projects at the Annual Gersten Day Rehabilitation Scientific Symposium.
  • Residents are encouraged to present at local and national medical conferences. Residents have presented at the following national conferences: AAP, AAPM&R, ACRM, AMSSM, ACSM, ACSIP, ASIA, and NANS.

 

Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇåal Stipend:

  • Each resident is given a $3,776 educational stipend. Funds can be used for: 
    • Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇåal textbooks (hardcover or electronic) 
    • Medical Supplies (stethoscope, hammer, lead, etc.)
    • Professional memberships 
    • Journal subscriptions
    • Travel to conferences
