The was established to enhance our important Dennis J. Matthews Excellence in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Fund work and to honor Dr. Dennis Matthews, who led the department for nearly 20 years.
Dr. Matthews, a 1975 CU School of Medicine alumnus, became the fifth chair of PM&R in 1997. A pioneer in the field of pediatric rehabilitation, he is internationally known for overseeing great transformation in the field. This fund supports PM&R scholarship through visiting professor lectures, workshops and national presentations inspired by the innovative work and visionary leadership of Dr. Matthews.
