The Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative strives to coordinate, synergize, and stimulate effective, innovative approaches to firearm injury prevention in Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå and across the U.S. through:
The Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative is , with contributions from the CU School of Medicine Dean’s Office and the departments of Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Surgery. Additional support is provided by the Injury & Violence Prevention Center, which is a joint initiative between the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå School of Medicine and the Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå School of Public Health.
Individual faculty members affiliated with the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative receive research funding from a variety of federal and state agencies and philanthropic foundations. These funds support research and evaluation projects conducted by our faculty but do not support nor influence the initiative as a whole. Research products do not necessarily represent the views of the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative nor the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå.
