Department of Otolaryngology Residency

Program Director Welcome

Cristina Cabrera-Muffly, MDWelcome to the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Otolaryngology Residency Program!  Our residency combines nationally recognized clinical faculty with cutting edge research opportunities and a comprehensive educational curriculum to prepare residents for independent practice.  Our residents come to Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå from diverse backgrounds and medical schools all over the country, and attain both highly ranked fellowships and competitive practice positions after graduation.

The vision for otolaryngology residents trained at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå is to provide the knowledge, skills, and tools residents need to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and quality care for patients with head and neck diseases, both during residency and beyond.  We commit to providing a supportive working and learning environment with mentorship and coaching to achieve this goal.  Faculty within every subspecialty of otolaryngology who have a strong commitment to education make this possible.  I believe that “the people make the program,” and our accomplished and outstanding group of faculty and residents make our program an excellent place to train and work.

When deciding on an otolaryngology residency program, applicants want to know that they will experience the breadth and depth of otolaryngology, that they will engage in sufficient operative cases to be competent surgeons, and that there is a supportive environment with people committed to their success.  At the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Department of Otolaryngology, we have multiple faculty within every subspecialty of otolaryngology, high operative case volume, and a clear commitment to the success of our trainees.  We welcome you to see what we have to offer.
