Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå

Oliver Bawmann, MD (He/Him/His), is originally from Denver, Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Santa Clara University, where he also worked as an EMT throughout college. He then returned home and attended University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå for medical school. Having loved his time at CU for medical school, he felt very fortunate to stick around for residency, and completed his combined internal medicine – pediatrics residency in June 2024. In residency he fell in love with the medical ICU and the field of pulmonology. He is planning on a career in adult pulmonary and critical care medicine, and has specific interests in medical education, the learning environment, and provider well-being.  Outside of the hospital he loves getting outside with friends to play volleyball, basketball, or to enjoy the outdoor beauty of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå by backpacking or road biking. He also loves to cook and read, and is an avid Denver sports fan, and can often be found cheering on one of his favorite teams with his partner, Amy, who is a pediatric neurology fellow at Children’s Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå.

Nicholas Bianchina, MD (He/Him/His), is originally from Geneva, Illinois before moving to Des Moines, Iowa to attending Drake University for undergraduate education. There he received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Business Studies. Afterwards, Nick attended the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå for medical school and continued for his residency training. As a resident, he was a part of the Hospitalist Training Track and Clinician Educator pathway. His interests including medical education with a focus on curriculum development and trainee experience, alongside quality improvement and health systems design. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kylie, his corgi, Waffles and watching as many movies as he can!

Natalie deQuillfeldt, MD, MA (She/Her/Hers), was born in Queens, New York after her family immigrated from Guyana, South America. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biology, South Asian Studies, and Classical Greek and Roman Civilizations from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She completed a master’s degree in Medical Humanities and Bioethics at Stony Brook before attending medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. During her residency at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s Internal Medicine Primary Care Program, she helped create a Sex and Reproductive Health curriculum as part of her role on the program’s curriculum committee and served as Women’s Health Ambassador for TeachIM.org, an online medical education platform. She plans to pursue fellowship in Addiction Medicine prior to practicing as a general internist with a focus on Addiction and Reproductive Health. Outside of medicine, she is an avid reader of classics and historical fiction and enjoys watching Hockey (Go Avalanche!) and spending time outdoors with her husband Paul and their dog Wiley. 

Ally Fuher, MD (She/Her/Hers), grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities for both undergraduate and medical school (go Gophers!) before coming to the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå to continue her training. During residency, she was a member of the categorical track and medical education pathway; she ​also heavily participated in pulmonary vascular research. After her chief year, she plans to pursue an academic career in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Outside of the hospital, Ally enjoys spending time with her partner (Samuel) and together hosting large dinner parties for family and friends; she also enjoys spending time outdoors, backpacking, skiing (cross country or downhill), playing soccer, doing pottery, and playing guitar. 

Kira Grush, MD, MA (She/Her/Hers), is from Boulder, Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå and remains a “forever Coloradan,” having received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå College and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and MD from the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå. She comes to medicine after a career in K-12 education where she served as a middle school English teacher and, later, a middle school Dean of Students in the Cole neighborhood of Denver. Her areas of interest include health equity and medical education. She plans to pursue fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine with the long-term goal of developing curriculum around critical care and health equity education. Outside of work, Kira spends her time with her husband, Kyle, who is a hospitalist at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Hospital, and her 1-year-old son, Nolan. Together, they enjoy playing board games, traveling, watching the Rockies, and spending time outside.

Andrew Pham, MD (He/Him/His), is from Aurora, Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå, and he is proud to be the son of Vietnamese refugee immigrants. Andrew completed all his education and training in state, graduating from University of Denver with degrees in Molecular Biology and Sociology. He then completed his medical degree at University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå. During residency, Andrew was in the hospitalist track and Global Health pathway. He has always been interested in basic translational science and plans to pursue a physician scientist career in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Outside the hospital, he enjoys indoor bouldering, exploring Denver’s food/ice cream scene, hiking, cooking multi-course meals, NYT puzzles, cheering on the Broncos (even when they have no chance), and traveling. 

Cristina Fischer, MD (She/Her/Hers), grew up in New Berlin, Wisconsin. She attended University of Wisconsin for undergrad and stuck around to complete her medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to continue her training at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå. During residency she was a member of the Hospitalist Training Track and Medical Leadership Pathway and used these opportunities to develop her interests in systems and quality improvement, medical education, and healthcare leadership. After her chief year in quality and safety she plans to pursue a career in hospitalist medicine with a focus on systems and quality improvement. Outside of the hospital, Cristina enjoys spending time with her Husband, Jack, and black lab, Maci, exploring all the beauty that Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå has to offer. Her favorite activities are hiking, camping, exercising, downhill skiing, and discovering new coffee shops in the Denver area.
