COLOMBIA TROPICAL MEDICINE PROGRAM

ADULT INFECTIOUS DISEASES DIVISION

THE VISION: Eliminating Neglected Tropical Diseases in the United States and Abroad

At the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, we imagine a world where no matter where you are, we can diagnose and treat neglected tropical diseases. Our vision will make sure that prevalent diseases like leprosy, leishmaniasis and Chagas are eliminated, and that the devastating stigma associated with these illnesses no longer exists. We imagine a future in which effective treatments already in existence are made available around the world, where they can improve the quality of life for countless people. We believe that one day anyone could travel anywhere, at any time, and return home healthy and safe.

We will realize our ambitious vision by leveraging university expertise to disseminate knowledge and treatments to health professionals in the United States and across the globe. Our efforts to train a network of local providers will ensure that we prepare those who will go on to change lives in their own communities. We will make an incredible impact with a significant scope, and in today’s ever-growing global community, our work could not be more important.
