The University’s overall benefits are very comprehensive and affordable. And there are some great employee perks:

• There are 4 options for health insurance, including a high-deductible plan, a CU-system HMO plan (Exclusive), an Anthem PPO plan (Extended), and a Kaiser option. 
• There are two dental plans (both Delta) and a vision plan.
• $57,000 worth of basic life insurance is provided, and employees can buy extra for themselves and their dependents.
• There are flex spending accounts for medical and dependent care expenses. 
• Tuition assistance is available for employees and their dependents.
• Free professional mental health and other resources are available through the Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå State EAP.
• CU offers a number of discounts on a wide range of goods and services through the BenefitHub and UniverCity Key as well as discounted CU season tickets for football, basketball and volleyball.

The University’s retirement plan is extremely generous: 

• There is a mandatory 5% contribution from the employee, and CU matches it at 10%. 
• You can contribute additional funds (no match) through a 403b or a 457 plan. 
• As a state employer, CU also participates in the Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA), the state pension plan. Employees who are already PERA members may choose to continue to contribute to PERA. 
  

• Sick and vacation time starts accruing immediately. 
• Employees get 14.66 hours a month of vacation and 10 hours a month of sick time.
• Additionally, we have 11 paid holidays and usually the Chancellor extends extra time off at the end of December. 
• The University provides 4 weeks of paid parental leave when an employee has/adopts a baby.
• Time off continues to accrue as long as an employee is in paid leave status.

• DFM Staff receive $600/year in professional development funds which can be used for job-related classes or materials. Similarly, faculty receive $2,000/year and these funds can be used for licenses, conferences, etc. (Funds are prorated by FTE and hire date)
• CU belongs to Coursera and SkillSoft. There are thousands of free classes available on topics ranging from specific computer programs to communication and business skills. 
  

• The department is amenable to remote/hybrid work arrangements and flexible scheduling, depending on the position and the needs of the team.
• Full-time clinicians have 32 hours a week of appointable clinic time (versus the typical 36). 
• Outpatient call is limited and scheduled months in advance.
• Employees on the Anschutz campus have access to Care.com, which helps with childcare and elder care, as well as other work-life balance resources.
• The CU Health Plan MOVE program provides $25/month for logging at least 30 minutes of exercise 12 times a month.
• Landed is an equity-sharing home-buying program that employees can use to purchase a house.
