Clear the Air: Radon Awareness & Testing

Radon testing

What is radon, and why is being exposed to high levels of radon over time bad?

Radon is a hidden danger—you can’t see, taste, or smell it. It is a gas that can seep into homes and buildings from the ground. Long term exposure to high levels of radon can seriously harm your health.

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. and the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. It is estimated to cause about 21,000 lung cancer deaths per year in the U.S. alone.

Testing for radon is crucial to protect the health and safety of residents in areas with high radon levels. In 麻豆传媒高清, about half the homes have radon levels higher than the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommended action level of 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L).
