Below are lists of resources in the Denver metro community for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. Please know the resources below are not for immediate emergency assistance. We hope these resources will provide a good start for someone looking for assistance in the community.

Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Resources

The University of �鶹��ý�� (CU) Alzheimer's and Cognition Center is located at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and is part of the School of Medicine, Department of Neurology. Our center offers clinical care, clinical research, and translational research, as well as educational materials and support groups through collaboration with local community organizations.

Part of the University of �鶹��ý�� Alzheimer's and Cognition Center is the Memory Disorders Clinic. If you or a loved one is having concerns with dementia or other memory problems and are interested in seeing one of our neurologists, please contact our clinic at (720) 848-2080.

: Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience, known as GUIDE, is a program designed to support comprehensive and coordinated care for those living with dementia. As the first dementia care management program funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the GUIDE program works with primary care or neurology teams with goals to improve quality of life for people with dementia, reduce strain for family caregivers, and help those with dementia to remain in their homes and communities.

The Alzheimer's Association of �鶹��ý�� provides information and support for people in �鶹��ý�� living with dementia, as well as for families and caregivers.

The �鶹��ý�� Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) Support Group provides information and support specific to people with PCA in �鶹��ý��. This support group is run by Dr. Victoria Pelak, a neurologist who works with the CU Alzheimer's and Cognition Center.

They provide resources such as information , support group meetings and lectures, and information about clinical trials and research.

The Denver Public Library offers a variety of events, classes, services, and resources specifically for older adults. DPL's also offer engaging events and activities designed for people who live with dementia.

Other Medical Services and Resources for Low Income and Undocumented Individuals

The offers respite vouchers to family caregivers and providers. Their mission is "to strengthen �鶹��ý��’s statewide lifespan respite care resource network for family caregivers and professionals." According to their website, some of the things they do are:

Provide information, resources and referrals to family and professional caregivers, including tools to navigate respite funding sources and how to find care
Distribute respite vouchers to caregivers with limited access to respite
Administer grants to agencies to increase access to respite care services statewide
Collaborate with organizations providing training on respite and caregiver supports
Facilitate training and educational opportunities for respite providers, caregivers, and employers across �鶹��ý��

DRCOG provides Options Counseling. This is a resource where an individual can talk with trained professionals in the field of aging and disability, who can help you to create a plan for care and support. They are very knowledgeable about the Medicare and Medicaid process, and can help those that are undocumented better understand the process, application, and coverage.

This organization will provide help with Medical Assistance Applications. For help with these applications, call the Health First �鶹��ý�� Member Contact Center at 1 (800) 536-5298.

is a student-run free clinic in Aurora �鶹��ý�� designed to serve uninsured patients from the community. While there are certain eligiblity requirements to be seen at the free clinic, they are also able to help with health education, navigating the healthcare system, and connecting to local organizations that aid with insurance enrollment. The clinic is accessible via the 10 and 15 bus routes, and they provide on-site Spanish interpreters, as well as language phones for almost any other language needed.

The clinic is open to uninsured adult patients living in Original Aurora on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Denver Health has many clinics that are located all throughout the Denver-metro area and provide services regardless of ability to pay. They have many family health clinic options, as well as specialty clinics such as a women's clinic, pediatrics clinic, cardiology, neurology, and many others. provides health care services focused on low-income, medically underserved, and migrant populations. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, CHP+, and most private insurance plans, as well as offer a sliding scale based on family size and income.
