This project is committed to the idea that true progress cannot occur from a single framework/way of seeing. Our approaches in improving the wellbeing of Iraqi migrants in Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå are inherently collaborative and interdisciplinary - fusing quantitative findings with community-based, qualitative, ethnographic research and using these findings to provide solutions in clinical, social, and educational spaces.

We have three goals that all align with true DEIA service:
1. To deepen our understanding of Iraqi migrant health and health care needs, experiences, and disparities in Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå through research
2. To disseminate our findings to diverse Iraqi migrant stakeholders and
3. To transform this data into action through diverse partnerships

There are many ways people can get involved or support our mission.
Individuals can help us with organizing community events that bring Iraqi migrants together for community-building and wellbeing mentorships. Iraqis are deeply collectivistic, so our approach to improving their physical and mental health is rooted in sociocultural solutions. Support can also look like sharing our findings with migrant health stakeholders (providers, clinical educators, social and public health workers); getting to know your Iraqi neighbor; exposing yourself to ethnographies and stories directly from Iraqis -- we believe gaining this contextual understanding will lead to empathic action. We also always have our doors open to partner with other groups serving other migrant populations.
