Research:Currently, my primary focus entails understanding how microenvironmental changes alter the cellular selection for oncogenic mutations. I have two topics of interest: 1) identifying driving mechanisms of how aging-associated changes in the tissue microenvironment (e.g. chronic inflammation) influences oncogenesis 2) probing mechanisms of resistance and/or relapse by investigating effects of chemotherapies and targeted therapies in hematopoietic models (particularly acute myeloid leukemia) in hopes of developing interventions to leukemia.
